Day 2 - Ratchaburi to Kanchanaburi

Woke up fresh at 0600hr to use the bathroom. Slept through the entire night like a pig. At this point, the train was at the Bang Saphan area. Jimmy is still sleeping

Once we were both awake, it was back to the dining carriage for some breakfast as we had nothing else better to do.

We arrived at Ratchaburi train station at 0900hrs and immediately went to collect our bikes from the station master. We were relieved that our bikes started at the first attempt.

After taking a bath and securing our luggage to our bikes, we were ready to
move off with our bikes.

I realised that my speedometer wasn't working. Upon closer inspection, I realised my speedo cable had snapped. They must have really been rough in loafing my bike up the train. Anyways, a roadside DIY fix was needed to get it working again.

After one round around  Ratchaburi town, we got bored and started our ride toward Kanchanaburi.

At about 1230hr, we arrived at Kanchanaburi and went to the 'Bridge by the River Kwai' for some photos. The place was crowded with lots of local and foreign tourist.

We just missed the fireworks display last night. Damn!

Next we went to the Floating restaurant for lunch. This lot and 2 beers cost 560B

We had a disscusion and agreed that we shall stay here for the night and take a longer ride tomorrow. Next we needed to find a place to stay for tonight.

Quickly we picked River Kwai mansion at a cost of 600B a night. They claim to have the best view of the River Kwai on the rooftop. Will check it out later.

There was this insanely fun fare that had thousands of stores and is at least 1km x 1km. We spent at least 3 hours waking around.
